Woodland Caribou

The harsh, mountainous terrain of the Washington-Idaho border is the home of the U.S.'s "endangered" woodland caribou. Healthy populations exists in Alaska and British Columbia. Dense forest provide this hoofed animal with food and shelter. Tall,widely spread antlers and shaggy mane beneath the neck characterize the male of the species.
